• Audiometry
Measures hearing acuity for variations in sound intensity and pitch & for tonal purity, involving thresholds and differing frequencies, vocal or tonal.

• Liminal Tonal Audiometry
The patient’s responses are recorded according to the intensities and frequencies that are emitted from the audiometer.

• Tonal Supraliminal Audiometry
It complements the previous one when there is a hearing loss of perception and it is wanted to know if there is or not an affectation of the ciliated cells of the organ of Corti.

• Vocal Audiometry
This procedure tests the patient’s ability to understand words. The percentage of words recognized by the patient indicates their level of intelligibility..

 

Pre-Work & School Audiometry

• Impedance
The primary purpose of impedance audiometry is to determine the status of the tympanic membrane and middle ear via tympanometry. The secondary purpose of this test is to evaluate acoustic reflex pathways, which include cranial nerves (CN) VII and VIII and the auditory brainstem.

• Otoacoustic Emissions
To detect childhood deafness, cochlear hearing loss, analyze the language area and detect simulators.
